By using Ibycus, you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain language.

The app

Ibycus is a mobile application that uses on-device image recognition to match photographs with poems from the public domain. The poetry corpus includes classical Russian and English poetry by authors whose works are no longer under copyright. The app also includes an optional feedback feature that lets you rate poem matches to help improve the experience.

Using the app

You may use Ibycus for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app or its models.
  • Use the app to process images of other people without their consent.
  • Attempt to extract the poetry database or machine learning models from the app.

Poetry and copyright

All poems included in Ibycus are from the public domain. We have made reasonable efforts to include only works whose copyright has expired. If you believe a poem has been included in error, please contact us at hello@ibycus.app.

The app itself — its code, design, and the selection and arrangement of the corpus — is the intellectual property of the developer.

Disclaimer

Ibycus is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Poem matching is done by algorithm and is intentionally serendipitous — we make no guarantees about the relevance or appropriateness of any matched poem for any particular photo or occasion.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
